A painting holiday in Rajhastan with John Bowen and Billa Edwards.

February 15th-March 4th  2010

This is a two week painting holiday to delight the artist and traveller alike.  Billa Edwards is a seasoned organiser of group visits to India with many years experience.  She generously shares her intimate knowledge of the countrys customs and culture with our travelling companions.  I have been the tutor to these groups in both Turkey and Rajhastan and we are pleased to welcome artists of all abilities on this painting holiday.

In 2010 we shall take a party to an area described as the most artistic region of India, Shekhawati.  We shall visit Nawalgarh with its havelis renowned for their painted frescos and

Jodhpur will be another base with its imposing Mehrangarh fort overlooking the elaborate palaces, colourful bazaars and the sands of the Thar Desert.

The havelis of Jaisalmer are one of its greatest attractions.  The yellow sandstone buildings with projecting balconies and fine lattice screens are a feast for the eye while narrow streets offer more manageable subjects for the artist.
